Unfortunately, Due to lack of sponsorship money in a bad economy, the Barrie Latin Festival has been cancelled for 2009.
We thank all supporters and hope for your continued support in future years.
The Barrie Latin Festival is a community event, sanctioned by the Barrie City council; to promote Latin culture and expose the city of Barrie to its ever growing Latin community. This community festival is used to showcase Barrie's infrastructure, developments, and community services, as well as its embrace of ethnic cultures.
Last year's festival was a huge success with attendance in the thousands from Barrie, surrounding cities, Toronto and the GTA and people are now anxiously anticipating the festivities of 2008.
The Festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th, 2009 from 12:00p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and held at Centennial Park on the waterfront.
The Festival will feature a diverse and entertaining program of music and performance with Latin musicians, folkloric dancers, bands, children's area and activities, artesian crafts and the smell of good authentic Latin cooking invading the grounds.
We expect at least 5000 to 8,000 people in attendance and the extensive exposure through the media may result in a far greater number (estimated to 10,000+).
Don't miss out on Barrie's hottest day of the summer with it's sizzling Latin Fiesta and Salsa all through the night at the...................
